FAQ

We are frequently asked the same questions from people wishing to commence training. A lot of adults and Children are nervous about starting Kickboxing and they don’t know what to expect so here are a few questions and answers, which we hope may help you.


Will I be the odd one out when I start?
No. We are constantly enrolling new people into each one of our classes.

What age can my child start?
We cater for kids from 5 in our kids classes. Kickboxing teaches them discipline, co-ordination and improves confidence, aswell as improving fitness and flexibility.

Am I too old to start?
The great thing about Kickboxing is that you can start at any age. People of different ages may have different goals and desires but everyone will definitely improve regardless of age. We aim to tailor every class to your specific goals and capabilities. 

Do I need to get fit before starting Kickboxing?
Some people believe that they need to get fit before starting Kickboxing and these are generally the people that never join! Kickboxing is what will get you fit fast! So let us get you fit. We are also happy to help with nutrition advice and plans to help you get the best possible results.

How often should I train every week?
It is recommended that you take 2 classes a week depending on your goals but you are free to train in 1 or all our classes.

Do I have to Fight or Spar?
Not at all!! Sparring is very beneficial but it is and should be an optional activity. A lot of people never wish to spar and simply want to improve fitness. The majority of Kickboxers don’t spar and only a small minority compete.

Can I get belts like in Karate?
Yes we operate a belt grading system for those who wish to. Our system goes in the following order: White, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, Brown and Black. Students get colored tips on their belts which denote what belt they will get next.
